Rope Runners started in 1998, when Kate, then a
Brownie Girl Scout Leader in Heart of Ohio Council, invented them for use
at a Service Unit event. The Rope Runner Derby was so popular, that
it became an annual event. Word spread, and neighboring Service
Units wanted to have their own Rope Runner Derbies. In 2000 demand
became so great that Kate decided to start a Rope Runner business.
It has been wonderful to see Rope Runners spread all across the country
from our remote corner of Ohio.
Our workshop is a turn-of -the-century home, in a tiny town nestled in
the Appalachian foothills. We are a woman-owned, women-operated
business, and are active in programs that support our community.
Kate is a Senior Girl Scout Leader, and has moved up with her daughter,
Elizabeth, who is now a Senior Girl Scout, working on her Gold Award.
